The New Year is almost here! This year, bring the party to your house and invite your family and friends to your home to ring in the New Year. Here are some fun tips for hosting a fabulous, family-friendly New Year’s Eve party at home!
Let everyone make their own noisemakers! All you need is several empty water bottles, festive wrapping paper or washi tape and ribbon, and filler – you can use dried beans, coin, or buttons. Make sure the littlest kids are closely supervised during this activity.
Instead of a traditional champagne toast, have a hot chocolate bar! Get a set of fun glass mugs and all the fixings, such as whipped cream, marshmallows, chocolate chips, candy canes, and colorful sprinkles. Right before the countdown, add a shot of flavored liquour to the adults’ mugs to create a delicious cocktail.
Break out the games! Board games and cards are a great way to spend the evening with family and friends. Play classics like charades, Pictionary, and Uno, or try your hand at some newer ones like Cards Against Humanity or Pie in the Face.
Set up a photo booth! Head to the dollar store to get fun glasses, signs, and other goofy props themed for the New Year. Pin a solid colored blanket against a wall and invite guests to take fun photos with their own smartphones!
Have a sleepover! Unfortunately, many people drink and drive on New Year’s Eve. If you’re inviting just a few people, ensure your guests’ safety by inviting them to stay for the evening. Make it fun by encouraging everyone to wear their pajamas!
