Spring Events in Metro Atlanta

Spring is officially here, and it’s time to get outdoors and enjoy the warmer weather. There are so many family-friendly events and festivals in the Metro Atlanta area coming up this spring. With a short drive, you can visit a new town, find some beautiful artwork, and learn a little more about the great things happening in Georgia.

Artsapalooza: Sandy Springs, GA

Held April 16-17, Artsapalooza showcases nearly 150 photographers, painters, scultors, metal crafters, leather workers, jewelers, glass blowers and so much more. A family-friendly event, there will be hands-on arts and crafts activities, live entertainment, and artist demonstrations. Plus, there will be yummy festival food!

Hours: Saturday 10am-5pm & Sunday 11am-5pm

Marietta Reptile and Exotics Show: Marietta, GA

Visit the Jim R. Miller Park and Event Center on April 20th for the Marietta Reptile and Exotics Show. Learn about and visit with reptiles, birds, exotic mammals, amphibians, and more. Exhibitors will also have equipment and accessories for sale, including lights, feeders, heating implements, and cleaning products. Perfect for the whole family, there will be face painting, activities, food, and educational stations.

Hours: Saturday 10am-4pm

Kennesaw Big Shanty Festival: Kennesaw, GA

Happening April 9 & 10, the Big Shanty Festival will feature over 200 booths with arts and crafts, general merchandise vendors, and fantastic festival food. There will be live entertainment on two stages, as well as activities for children. Admission is free!

Event Location: Downtown Kennesaw, S. Main St., Kennesaw, GA 30144

Hours: Saturday & Sunday 10:30am – 6pm

Dahlonega Mountain Festival: Dahlonega, GA

This fun spring event happens April 22 though April 24 at Dahlonega’s Historic Downtown Square. There will be approximately 85 regional artists showcasing textiles, woodworking, folk arts, glass and metal work, jewelry, photography and so much more. Find local honey, hand crafted soaps and candles, and all the best in local jams, jellies, and pottery. There will be live bluegrass music, storytelling, kids’ activities, and food vendors.
